Hershey Mouse Valentines

Hershey's Kiss Mouse Valentines

I saw these mice on Pinterest but didn't see instructions.  We put them into a clear plastic bag and glued a Valentine card to the front of each bag.

Supplies:  Hershey's kisses (2 per mouse)
                 Google eyes
                 Tiny pompoms for the nose
                 Colored felt for the ears
                 Jute string for the tail
Low temp glue gun and glue sticks
First pinch or cut off all the labels from the chocolate and assemble the mouse heads, using a spot of glue for each eye and nose.  Make sure the glue gun is the low temp because glue definitely got on our hands.

Second cut out felt hearts.  They get sandwiched in between the two kisses to become the ears.

Third, add a spot of glue to the tail.
     Ta-da!

Button Tree Craft

This is a simple, Pinterest-inspired craft that I did with my 7-year old and 3-year old. I saw the original on http://www.simplydesigning.net/kids-craft-button-art/ and had to give it a try.

All it took was some simple supplies:
1. Brown acrylic paint. This one was from JoAnn fabrics.
2. A couple paintbrushes and a palette (old plastic plate)

 3. A 12" x 12" canvas.
 4. The kids liked the mini bottles of Aileen's Tacky Glue.
 5. An assortment of buttons and a few acrylic gems.

First, I drew a simple tree outline on the plain canvas.  Then the kids filled it in with brown paint. After about 2 hrs dry time, it was ready to have drops of glue applied to the tips of the branches (and everywhere else, but especially the tips) and buttons applied.  That's it!
